Revised timeline for EGA (tariff) result in 2016 – 2017 (SETI Alliance recommendation)
The SETI Alliance and its members strongly encourage EGA parties to make the most out of the coming months in 2016 enabling a first tariff delivery to be communicated to the world by the summit of the Chinese G.20 Presidency in September 2016. If we miss this (new) deadline it would be a gamble with the whole “raison d’être” behind the EGA, which would be a great mistake.

An Introduction to the SETI Alliance
We are a coalition of businesses, think tanks, and governments that works to promote a scale-up sustainable energy goods and services through trade.
Our mission is to reduce barriers to trade in green technologies through intergovernmental or multisectoral trade agreements, which can make these goods and services more easily available and more widely used.
The SETI Alliance was lauched in 2012 by the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development, under whose statutes it is governed.
About The SETI Alliance
The Alliance of the Sustainable Energy Trade Initiative (SETI Alliance) is a multi-stakeholder coalition of green energy technology companies, governments, research institutions and intergovernmental organizations. It works to enable the development and deployment of clean energy technologies so as to combat climate change, strengthen sustainable energy security, and create green growth through free trade and open markets. Recognizing the specific features of the energy sector, the SETI Alliance is calling for - and proposing - tailor-made trade policy options for sustainable energy solutions, whether through multilateral, plurilateral or bilateral policy means.
“If we want affordable and more innovative green technologies in the future, then we must avoid green protectionism in all its forms. Using common sense and well-documented analysis, the SETI Alliance is proposing solutions for how we can use trade to secure cost-efficient technologies for energy security, fight climate change, and create jobs.”
